The Burton Hunt Branch of the Pony Club was established in 1947. The Branch covers the area to the north of Lincoln, stretching up to Grayingham and Market Rasen in the north, nearly up to the River Trent in the west and almost reaching the foot of the Lincolnshire Wolds to the east, and down to Newark in the south.
Throughout the year we hold a programme of both mounted and dismounted rallies, training and competitions. We cater for all ages and abilities, from lead rein to advanced members, with the opportunity to progress through Pony Club tests. We run regular training for mounted games, show jumping, dressage, eventing, the musical ride and the horse and pony care competition and quiz. The branch enters teams for most disciplines, in qualifying events for the Pony Club National Championships. The highlight of the year for many members is our annual summer camp.
All our members are equally important. We want to help members grow as individuals and we want to celebrate each member’s achievements of their personal goals. We are a team and we want to be accessible, inclusive and open and to develop a nurturing culture in which the older members help the younger members to learn.
Following the government announcement there is a plan to move back to normality.
It is hoped that we will be able to resume Pony Club face to face activities from March 29th, which is just in time for the Easter break.
We are planning some great rallies and training with Covid precautions in place and look forward to seeing you all soon.
